Summer Food and Fun in Alpharetta

Because Belmont at Park Bridge Apartment Community is centrally located in Alpharetta, that means there’s always something nearby to enjoy, especially in the summer. Get your June fill of food and music right here in our beautiful community. To start, you can’t go wrong by visiting the Alpharetta Farmer’s Market voted “Best Saturday Morning Excursion” for the past five years. The market is now located at North and South Broad Streets in Downtown Alpharetta in front of City Center alongside the Town Green with free parking in the nearby parking decks. Each Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. you’ll find a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables in season, edible foods including breads and sweet treats, flowers and herbs, local raw honey, homemade sauces and even soaps. You can also appreciate live music while browsing. This June, the market’s musical performers include Accustical Left, Fiddles of November, Bitsyland, and Old School. Music fans of Florence and the Machine can attend their upcoming concert at the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta, GA, this Thursday. Or for free concert options, our team at Belmont at Park Bridge recommends the Brooke Street Park Summer Concert Series Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. through September. Bring a blanket and a picnic, and enjoy live, family-friendly performances by different Alpharetta-based entertainment groups. June’s lineup includes: June 8, Home By Dark featuring Rebecca Correia and Emily Shackleton; and June 22, featuring Kyshona Armstrong and Jenn Bostic. On June 15, at 5 p.m., the series will host Alpharetta POPfest, an annual event to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s Disease. This year’s affair will feature performances by Myfever, Beach Revival, Sailing to Denver, and Jive Revival. Local food and beverage vendors include Curahee Brewing Company, Fermented, Beren’s Frozen Custard (try the Caramel Pretzel Crunch), Burgerfi and Pure Taqueria. Another family-friendly food and music event happens each Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Food Truck Alley, located at 37 Old Roswell Street. Now in its seventh season, the weekly happening hosts a rotating lineup of five savory food trucks with two dessert options as well. Limited seating is available and picnic mats can be borrowed, or bring your own chairs and blankets. This week, featured trucks include Happy Belly Kitchen & Truck, Big C’s Chicago Kitchen, Super Tot Truck, Just Loaf’n, and South of Philly with live music provided by Cole Thannisch. New this year, Food Truck Alley is including Local’s Corner which features two of Alpharetta’s signature restaurants each Thursday. This week, Chueys and Bite Bistro & Bar will join the trucks to serve up delectable items. So, plan to enjoy all that your local community has to offer this June.
