Back to School Tips You Can Use
Well there is still plenty of summer sun to soak up, but back-to-school time is just around the corner and that means stocking up. School systems that serve Belmont at Park Bridge Apartment Community, Creek View Elementary, Webb Bridge Middle School, and Alpharetta High School, begin their first day of classes ranging from August 12 to August 27. The Idea Specialists© at Belmont at Park Bridge put together these ideas to help you and your kids transition to the school year. Tip 1: Take inventory before you buy! Sure, you need to download the list of school supplies provided by your child’s school, but before you spend hard earned dollars, take an inventory of what you may already have. You’ll find that you may be able to reuse items such as: Backpack Lunch Box Binders Calculator Flash Drive Pencil Box Reusable Water Bottle Ruler/Protractor/Compass Scissors Ear Buds (only for use outside of the classroom of course) Markers/Colored Pencils/Crayons (Wait, who are we kidding? That is probably going to be a brand-new purchase. Below, we’ll tell you about local stores and websites to visit so that you can get the items you need at low back-to-school-prices. Tip 2: Make a list Before you buy anything, you’ll need a list to check off items in your current inventory (remember Tip 1?) so that you only buy the things you need. Review classroom lists provided on your school’s web site and mark off items you already have. Once you have your final list, it’s time to shop. Stores near Belmont at Park Bridge include Walmart, which offers free two-day delivery on a wide variety of back-to-school items. Also, you can shop a unique Walmart feature called Kidbox, which allows you to solve back-to-school shopping for clothes with up to 50% off premium brands. It’s easy to use—just take a brief quiz on your child or children’s style and get a Kidbox delivered to your door with outfits your kid can try at no initial cost. Pricing ranges from $48 and up depending on the items you choose to keep. Target Back to School – offers same day delivery, order pick up, and drive up service. The location nearest Belmont at Park Bridge is at 6000 North Point Parkway in Alpharetta. And, for tech savvy family members who need to organize your list by store, check out Cozi, a free app that lets you keep events and activities all in one place, keep and share the lists for each store in real time. Plus, you can also store recipes, plan meals, and shop for ingredients while using from your mobile or a computer. Now that’s a timesaver we love. Tip 3: Do your homework first. Every week, stores nearby and online will feature loss leaders, or items with a low cost designed to encourage you to shop and acquire both those products, and other regularly priced items that you may also need. So, before you walk out the door, sign up for weekly ads to be delivered to your email. Check your list and plan your shopping accordingly. And that leads us to Tip 4! Tip 4: Price match Many stores have a price match policy. You’ll have to visit individual websites to see specific stipulations. For instance, Target matches its own website (sometimes online prices are cheaper than in stores) and competitors’ in store and online prices. And if you purchase an item at Target and find it cheaper somewhere else up to 14 days later, you can bring in the receipt and receive the difference. Staples features a 110% Price Match policy where you not only get items at the same price but also receive another 10%. Tip 5: Shop when you have time! Of course, busy parents may not have time to make the rounds (raise your hand if you’ve ever shopped at midnight! We have!) Try amazon.com for school supply needs. If you are a college student, you can sign up for a free six-month Amazon Prime membership and get free shipping along with a host of other benefits. Tip 6: Coupons Don’t forget the power of couponing. Stores we like that are offering back-to-school deals include: Office Depot has 20% Off Qualifying School Supply purchases. PLUS, you can shop online and pick up in the store, even scoring those $0.10 notebooks. Staples has a 20% Off School Supplies Coupon when you purchase a backpack. School shopping doesn’t have to tank your finances. You can save money and time on school supplies! And, by using these great tips, you’ll see that this is a test you can pass with flying colors!

It’s Triple Crown Racing Season!
Our Belmont at Park Bridge Apartment Community team is especially fond of the Triple Crown, a series of three thoroughbred horse races that begin May 4 with the Kentucky Derby, a time-honored tradition, followed by the Preakness Stakes on May 18th and the Belmont Stakes on June 8th. In fact, we named our luxury floor plans for these races, so we think this is a perfect time to visit and see what Belmont at Park Bridge has to offer. In The Derby, you’ll find a one bedroom home featuring spacious walk in closets, and a gourmet kitchen, providing a perfect place whip up a few mint juleps for guests! Here’s a great recipe from the Kentucky Derby’s Executive Chef David Danielson of Churchill Downs on how he and his team make juleps for the 400,000 people who come through their gates. Following the Kentucky Derby is the Preakness Stakes, and here at Belmont at Park Bridge, our Preakness floor plan is a spacious two-bedroom, one bath that is perfect for entertaining. Residents can enjoy the private patio or balcony (with outside storage closet as well), and perhaps serve guests a delightful mélange of mini Maryland crab cakes, Lady Baltimore cake, and the Black-Eyed Susan cocktail which according to the Preakness Stakes website, is made with one part bourbon, one part vodka, one part peach schnapps, two parts orange juice and two parts sour mix. Visit and move in by June 8th and you could celebrate The Belmont Stakes in your very own Belmont, an expansive floor plan featuring two-bedrooms, two-baths with wood burning fireplace, and a separate dining area, a wonderful feature shared by all floor plans in fact! Use your gourmet kitchen to create the Belmont Stakes official cocktail featuring bourbon shaken with pomegranate and lemonade and garnished with maraschino cherry or lemon twist. In Celebration of National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day

There aren’t many sandwiches popular enough to have their very own National Day of recognition and celebration, but Grilled Cheese is one of them, and there are several great reasons why. Grilled Cheese sandwiches serve as one of the ultimate comfort foods, with origins in the 1920s when inexpensive sliced bread and American cheese became easily available in the United States. Originally it was made as an open-faced sandwich, with variations evolving through the years. Luckily for residents of Belmont at Park Bridge, a great grilled cheese sandwich is just a few minutes from home. Just six minutes away on Old Milton Parkway in the Avalon community, you’ll find Bocado Burger. Bocado Burger offers diners an upscale version for the classic grilled cheese, made with comte, jack and fromage blanc and served with a cup of tomato bisque and a parmesan crisp. Also located in Avalon is the Barleygarden Kitchen & Craft Bar. Featuring a patio area and rooftop area, the Barleygarden offers patrons some of the best in small batch brewing and a delicious menu as well. Their Big Cheese grilled cheese sandwich pairs provolone with American cheese on sourdough bread, with your choice of beer mustard or apricot jam. Make it a combo with their turkey chili or tomato bisque, and you have yourself a classic grilled cheese lunch. Just under ten minutes north of Belmont at Park Bridge and located on Windward Parkway is Black Walnut Café. Here at the Black Walnut, you have a couple of choices to fill your grilled cheese cravings. First is their version of the classic grilled cheese sandwich. Made with American cheese and butter on challah bread, their Classic Grilled Cheese is made complete with a side of tomato basil soup. If you’re looking to kick your grilled cheese up a notch, you’ll definitely want to try their Pot Roast Grilled Cheese. Starting out the same as their Classic Grilled Cheese – with American cheese and butter on challah bread – they add mouth-watering, slow-cooked chuck tender pot roast to make this the ultimate in gooey, beefy grilled cheese. And finally located on Windward Parkway in Alpharetta, we have the Great Harvest Bread Company. This bakery chain specializes in whole-grain breads and muffins made with Montana wheat. They also have a tremendous sandwich menu. Their take on the grilled cheese sandwich is their Groovy Grilled Cheese. This twist on the traditional sandwich features a light herb spread and sharp cheddar and Swiss cheeses on honey wheat bread. Delicious! Of course, residents of Belmont at Park Bridge may want to prepare your own custom creation in our beautifully appointed gourmet kitchens featuring ranges and designer plank flooring. Position yourself in your home sweet home and try this recipe for the Ultimate Grilled Cheese courtesy of Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa. So, no matter what day of the year it may be, it’s always a great day to enjoy a grilled cheese sandwich, no matter what combination of cheeses you may prefer. So, this Friday, April 12, enjoy, but don’t forget, grilled cheeses are a perfect comfort food enjoyable anytime of the year! #GrilledCheeseSandwichDay

New Year New Digs

It’s always great to start a new year, leaving behind the old and ushering in the new. At Belmont Park Bridge Apartments in Alpharetta, we’re super excited to roll out our newly remodeled and styled 1 bedroom/1 bath apartment home, The Derby. Opportunities for living the organized life you want abound in this little jewel; a large walk in closet in the master bedroom, abundant cabinet space in the kitchen, and outdoor closet space accessed from your porch, for those out of season items that need to be tucked away. If you’ve been watching any Netflix in 2019 (and who hasn’t?), you may have just run across the crazy hot new series Tidying Up with Marie Kondo featuring Japanese lifestyle guru Marie Kondo who takes the concept of an organized home to a new level. During the series of inspiring home makeovers, Marie helps clients clear out clutter and choose joy by taking stock of their current inventory of clothes, books, paper, miscellaneous items, then sentimental items, determining their value in your life. Calling her process, the KonMari method, she advises that only items the spark joy in your life should remain. In her lifestyle blog, Marie advises you that “When you imagine your ideal lifestyle, you are really clarifying why you want to tidy and identifying the kind of life you want to live once you have finished.” Those are great words to consider because identifying the kind of life you want to live is important. And surrounding yourself with joy through the lifestyle you choose is a great path. We think that a fresh, clean space can be a powerful motivator to help you relax, enjoy life. Coming home to a luxurious space to live can be a game changer after a busy day at work, traveling out of town, or even bringing in groceries (unless you are smart and get Shipt to do that for you! They currently deliver from Target, Costco, Kroger and New York Butcher Shop.) Having a fresh, inviting comfortable space can make all the difference. And in case you have organized using the KonMari method or your own system and still need to store your joy-filled items (because holiday decorations are important!) Jeb Fawns, Property Manager at Belmont Park Bridge has the solution. “We hear from our residents that they enjoy the spacious walk in closet and outdoor storage space that accompanies each apartment home.” As for things that bring joy, Jeb says, “Another amenity that makes this feel like home are the cozy wood burning fireplaces in each apartment. We are near the North Georgia mountains so this really makes the homes feel like luxurious a getaway.” Add to that the apartment community’s convenient location in Alpharetta near Fortune 100 and 500 companies, shops, dining, entertainment and outstanding school systems and you just may agree that Belmont Park Bridge has everything you need to live a joy filled life every day.

Perfect Preparation for the Holidays – The Basics
What do The Container Store, Target, and the Pottery Barn at Avalon have in common? Just the best of everything you’ll need to get your place ready for the holidays. The Idea Specialists at Belmont at Park Bridge Apartments, in Alpharetta, have been on the move, looking for ways to make the upcoming holidays easier and more fun for our residents. We’ve completed the research and have a list of things to do in advance to get organized, so you can sit back and relax once the holiday festivities begin. Let’s start with the basics — organizing and cleaning. Sometimes it feels like cleaning your apartment can take an entire day. No need to despair! We’ve compiled a guide with tips and tricks to help you tackle the task quicker than you can spell THANKSGIVING. Let’s get started by breaking down your spaces. Laundry Room The rule of thumb with this room is to keep it organized. Easier said than done. Laundry rooms tend to get cluttered with clothes and cleaning supplies; but simple organizers can turn your laundry room around. The Container Store is a great place to shop for everything for organization. Check-out this Laundry & Ironing Starter Kit, perfect for any apartment home. The kit includes: 1 Rowenta Access Steam Iron, 2 Stacking Laundry Baskets, 1 Compact Accordion Drying Rack, 1 “The Laundress” Signature Detergent, 1 “The Laundress” Stiffen Up Starch and 1 Flip FOLD Laundry Folder. Kitchen This is the place where everyone gathers, right? Do you ever open the door under the sink and immediately close it back due to the mess? This space is a catch-all for an assortment of soaps, sponges, garbage bags, towels…and all of these items tend to mask together. The Container Store also has amazing storage bins and organizers for under the sink. An elegant way to showcase spices, cooking utensils and fruits and veggies, is by incorporating trendy counter organizers. Pottery Barn at Avalon has a variety of options that will clear your counter tops with added décor. Living Room A good place to start in this room is the floors. Pick-up things lying around and run a vacuum over rugs and carpets. Place blankets and magazines in decorative baskets by the couch or in a corner to expose more space. Target has a plethora of options from beautiful wicker, to crate-type baskets. Shop at your local Target to find the storage basket that fits your style and needs. Bathroom A quick way to de-clutter any bathroom is an over the toilet organizer. These organizers can be aesthetically pleasing and help hide bathroom products. We suggest Bed, Bath, and Beyond for the quantity of options at a good price! Take the “chore” out of chores and organize your surroundings to enjoy your space AND the upcoming holiday season.
